Douglas Adams, RIP, was a literary genius when it came to satire. He published the wacky "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", a book best described as a bizzare satire of the space/scifi genre. (if you've seen the movie, pretend you havent). The absolute funniest book he wrote is the second book of the (icreasingly inaccurately named) Hitchhiker Trilogy, "The Restaurant At the End of the Universe".
Since he was British, the humour is a little unusual, but still extremely funny. If you have read any of his books you would understand why i was quoting him all the time.
