Guide: A quick tutorial for the forum

[The Admin]

Ok... some people apparenlty do need help on getting around so I will try and make this fast...

If your reading this, then you already registered and I'm so proud of you....

Profile:

the first thing you should look at is the profile. Thats where you can change some personal settings
there you can change the time if its wrong, your age and other settings... some of these settings will show up on the posts depending on whether you want it to or not... this all can be found in the profile page at the top of the screen amongst the links.

Posts:

This is a post. It is where you write something and everyone sees it. A post is part of a Topic. A Topic is a collection of posts that all have to do with each other and are put together. If you cant find a topic that discusses your question or thought, just start a new topic, but make sure its in the right forum.


Forum:

A forum is a collection of topics posted by the users. The forums cannot be created by the users. They are set up already. If you feel there needs to be a new forum, please feel free to post about it!

Category:

A category is a collection of forums and is the biggest set on the website.
So for example:

Desktop (a category set up by the admin)
Companies ( a forum. also set up by Admin. they are like sub-categories)
Topics (heres where you come in... you post a topic about a computer from the company Dell)


Portal:

The portal is NOT the homepage, though it is the page you first see when you come to the site. It is the page that shows us the latest news and recent posts so you can jumop right in very quickly!

Homepage:
The homepage is the forum page with all the categories.
Chatbox:

At the bottom of the homepage you can logon to the chat box where you can chat in real-time with users online at the same time as you.

PM:

A PM is a private message. these are like emails and you can send them to a user privately and no one but the user it was sent to can see.


Brain cells!!

Well as you write more posts your rank will go up and more stars will appear by your name in the posts

But Brain cells are quite different... They could come and go.... they seem to come more when you help people on the forum rather than ask questions yourself.....
the more you participate the more brain cells you get... but if you stop participating the brain cells go down...
there are more rules to the mysterious brain cells but for now just know the above...
